About Tanya Azarani, M.D.

Compassionate & collaborative

I am a Board Certified Psychiatrist with advanced training in Mind-Body Medicine, Integrative and Functional Psychiatry.

I believe the most effective way to improve mental health is by optimizing the physical, emotional, spiritual, and environmental factors that shape who we are and how we feel.

I treat adults of all ages and backgrounds who are coping with trauma, life transitions, depression, anxiety, insomnia, relationships, and cross-cultural challenges.

Tanya Azarani, M.D. - Board Certified Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist

Tanya Azarani, M.D.

My therapeutic approach is warm and non-judgmental, where you are the expert and I am the guide on your journey of self-exploration.

I’m trained in the treatment of trauma, mind-body medicine, psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and somatic therapy techniques.

I’m passionate about my work with underserved communities, which is deeply fulfilling for me. Treating immigrant and refugee populations, as well as members of the LGBTQIA+ community, is foundational to my practice.

My passion for holistic psychiatry is rooted in my own experience of the transformative power of mind-body medicine to heal trauma and improve autoimmune disease. As a clinician with a multicultural background, I enjoy working with people from many different ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds.

“My mental health journey began with a crisis after years of neglecting my emotional wellbeing. I’ve now been in Dr. Azarani’s care for 6 years. She’s incredibly supportive without enabling, listens to my input, and guides me with unique expertise. Her openness to both medication- and psychotherapy-based practices of various styles has been immensely helpful as my needs have changed over time.”
